So you got the flu, now what? How about Linus Pauling, Raindrops and Rest?

Despite all your best efforts, sometimes your body just succumbs to the flu. So, now the goal is to shorten the duration and get you back to health as soon as possible, and here are a few things you can do.

Vibrant Life Tulsa Nutritional Testing and Pain Management - Flu Treatment

1) Rest. I know this seems like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many of us choose to fight it off, while still going about our daily activities. No! Rest! Those of us who may come in contact with you are asking you to stay home. It is not noble to come to work sick, it’s stupid.  And selfish. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

2) Keep hydrated, but stay away from sugary sports drinks. Sugar is not a friend to your immune system, and all the chemicals in commercial sports drinks won’t help you, either. Better choices are:

*Coconut water, which contains lauric acid. Lauric acid has antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that help strengthen the body’s immune system and fight against the flu.
A newborn child gets his or her lauric acid supply from breast milk and this helps them become less susceptible to disease and infections.

*Warm tea with lemon and raw honey. Raw, unprocessed honey is known to be a superfood that provides antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, carbohydrates, and phytonutrients. Add a little ginger root to the tea and you have another powerful anti-oxidant, and some anti-nausea benefit, as well.

3) If you haven’t been taking a probiotic, start now! I may seem like a broken record, but the balance of your gut flora is crucial to your health. If the thought of kombucha or sauerkraut isn’t appealing while you’re sick, at least take your probiotic in a capsule. I like Garden of Life, but there are several good ones out there.

4) Use essential oils to promote detoxification and assist you in eliminating symptoms associated with cold and flu.

The Raindrop Technique utilizes 9 different essential oils that have been heavily researched.  These 9 essential oils have been selected to work together when combined to simultaneously kill viral and bacterial pathogens, reduce inflammation, support the immune system, ease respiratory discomfort, relax stressed muscles, curb digestive upset and relieve body and joint discomfort. The oils are dispensed in little drops from a height of about six inches above the back, which is where Raindrop Technique gets its name. They are then massaged along the spine and back muscles. They are also applied to the feet.

Also, remember to continue to diffuse essential oils into the air for purification and respiratory support. Eucalyptus, oregano and peppermint are all effective in reducing germs and purifying the air.

…Lastly, this is one modality that I am so grateful to have readily available to me because I’m married to a doctor, but you can too!

5) Increase your intake of Vitamin C, and consider an I.V. with vitamin CVitamin C has taken a backseat in recent years with the advent of many newer antioxidants, but that doesn’t make it any less important. Especially beneficial for viral and upper respiratory infections, anyone with cold, flu, chronic fatigue or chronic viral infection will benefit from I.V.C. therapy.

To date, not a single virus has been tested that is not inactivated (killed) by a large enough dose of vitamin C.

I highly recommend you do the research on the remarkable benefits of IV vitamin C.

Look at the work of Dr.  Frederick Klenner, MD, who used IV vitamin C to cure polio in the 1940’s;

Linus Pauling, who remains the only person to have won two unshared Nobel Prizes, the first for Chemistry (1954) and the second for peace (1962), knew the important role Vitamin C played in the body. He explained his findings in his books “Vitamin C and the Common Cold” and “How to Live Longer and Feel Better”.  In addition to being one of the greatest scientists ever, he was a renowned humanitarian.

Also, Hugh Riordan, MD, an alternative medicine pioneer, was an ardent proponent of intravenous (IV) vitamin C for 30 years, until his death in 2005. He used IV vitamin C (15 to 100 grams) to relieve toxic reactions to insect bites, improve the quality of life for people with cancer, and in some cases eliminate tumors. He also had good success with bacterial and viral infections, including infectious mononucleosis, which is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus;

And, Dr. Tom Levy, who has numerous lectures on YouTube, as well as publications and books reporting the remarkable uses of IV vitamin C which are detailed in the book, Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and Toxins: Curing the Incurable.

Dr. Levy has some fascinating observations on how to treat the outbreak currently dominating our news reports.

So, to recap:

1) Rest    2) Hydrate    3) Take Probiotics    4) Use Essential Oils    5) Boost Vitamin C, especially in an IV

If you are sick, we can come to your home to administer the I.V. or Raindrop Therapy, so call us at 918-342-9803.

Stay Well My Friends!
